Hampton School Roof

Specialist Works

Hampton School is an independent secondary school for boy’s, founded in 1557 located in Hampton, Middlesex. FWJ was appointed to re-roof the sports hall, an area of approximately 1,000 square meters.

As specialist works, FWJ sub-contracted the delivery but did manage the whole project, including design, CDM and supply, from the nearby FWJ office based in Shepperton within a five week timeframe.

The project was particularly challenging because all works had to be carried out whilst the sports hall below was in full term-time use by the pupils, whom a number were disabled. Ensuring all health and safety signage, appropriate areas segregated and on-going close communication with the school enabled FWJ to protect pupils, staff and visitors from the on-site works.

Specific works included:

  • Strip-out of the old roof.
  • Re-sheet the roof by supplying and fitting an insulated roof panel and top weathering sheet with a hot dipped galvanised steel, alloy coated substrate.
  • Flashings replaced and 39 meters of guttering cleaned.
